Nikon COOLPIX S8200, S6200, S100, S1200pj, AW100/AW100s

NIKON COOLPIX S8200

The S8200 is the successor to the S8100, which was extremely well received as a high-power zoom camera. The S8200 is a high-spec compact digital camera equipped with a backside illumination CMOS image sensor offering an effective pixel count of 16.1-million pixels, and a 14x optical zoom lens that covers a broad range of focal lengths, beginning at the wide-angle 25 mm (equivalent in 35mm [135] format). Despite these incredible features, the S8200 is roughly the same size as its predecessor. In addition to new features such as Target finding AF, with which the user need simply point the camera at the intended subject and the camera automatically detects that subject and focuses on it, and Smile timer continuous, with which the camera automatically detects smiling faces and captures up to five shots at the moment the human subject smiles, the S8200 offers the functions and performance users have come to expect including continuous shooting, support for recording of full-HD movies and high-speed response. All of these features help to ensure certain capture of every photo opportunity that presents itself.

NIKON COOLPIX S6200

The S6200 is a stylish model that, despite being equipped with a 10x optical zoom NIKKOR lens, has a slim, compact and elegant body. In addition to offering excellent basic performance with superior image quality and high-speed response, the S6100 is equipped with four features—less noise at high sensitivities, Motion detection function, lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function, flash control system—that enable capture of beautiful nighttime shots. The S6200 is also equipped with a hand-held/tripod night landscape detection function that enables it to automatically distinguish between hand-held shooting and shooting with the camera mounted on a tripod to provide the optimum response to shooting conditions regardless of lighting levels, making successful capture of blur-free night landscapes even easier. What's more, Special effects mode for shooting and Filter effects for editing photos already taken allow you to create artistic photos and movies never before possible.

NIKON COOLPIX S100

As successor to the S80, the S100 is a compact digital camera with an image sensor offering 16.0-million effective pixels and a widescreen 3.5-inch, approximately 820k-dot OLED touch panel monitor with wide viewing angle for high-definition, high-contrast rendering. Various improvements to touch panel operation since the S80 have enabled more stress-free, intuitive operation. Adoption of a backside illumination CMOS image sensor, which offers superior performance when shooting at high sensitivities, suppresses the noise that often occurs with capture of night landscapes and dimly lit indoor scenes. In addition, support for recording of full-HD movies and a new 3D photography scene mode have been adopted to make photography with the camera more fun and the resulting images more beautiful. Despite these new features, the S100 still maintains the slim body and sharp, stylish design emphasizing portability of its predecessor.

The S1200pj, Nikon's third projector-equipped model, offers a 40% increase in projection brightness and three times greater projection contrast, enabling projection of vivid images at a projection size of up to 60-inch display. In addition, the S1200pj can be connected to an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch via the dedicated cable, allowing users to project images and movies stored on these devices as well as online content from websites such as YouTube™. The S1200pj truly offers new ways of using a camera by overcoming distance with the ability to view and project images and movies users have recorded themselves as well as images and movies acquired from around the world via the Internet.

NIKON COOLPIX AW100/AW100s

The AW100/AW100s, Nikon's first compact digital camera with waterproof, shock-proof and cold-resistant specifications, is a high-performance model with an effective pixel count of 16.0-million pixels. It offers not only basic camera features such as a backside illumination CMOS image sensor and functions for capturing still images with superior image quality and recording full-HD movies with the same superior picture quality, but is also equipped with a number of new features including GPS support, an electronic compass and a map display. Adoption of a lens utilizing new thin, right-angled optics makes the AW100/AW100s one of the slimmest truly waterproof compact digital cameras available. It offers not only a fashionable and elegant design that makes it perfect for everyday use, but also a tough body well suited to outdoor shooting.
To date, Nikon has offered three COOLPIX series of digital cameras: the L series, a line of cameras equipped with functions that make them fun and easy to use; the S series, a line of cameras offering advanced functions and refined design; and the P series, a line of high-performance cameras with a variety of functions that support more authentic photography. Now Nikon is pleased to add the AW series to its COOLPIX lineup. AW-series cameras are stylish models that offer superior image quality and support recording of more active scenes. The introduction of this new series allows Nikon to support a broader range of customers with cameras capable of recording special moments in a wider variety of situations. Nikon will continue to offer the enjoyment of capturing and viewing images by expanding its lineup of digital cameras to suit the needs and lifestyles of ever diversifying users.
